SYMBOLISM OF THE RAMLEELA LOGO.

nrctt-logo

Hanuman Baba was sent to Lanka in search of Seeta Maa carrying a message of comfort and consolation to the Divine Mother. After searching most of Lanka in vain, his eyes eventually fell upon the most beautiful site of a Mandir. What brought even more joy to the heart of Hanuman Ji was the fact that present upon the walls of the Mandir were the emblems of Dhanush Dhaari Bhagvaan Shree Ram – the bow and arrow.

Just as Hanuman Baba immediately identified with the emblems upon the walls of the Mandir, the intention of this particular logo is to ensure that all individuals recognise the defining characteristics of the Lord, which are represented by the various symbols within the logo. It is hoped that the essence of Ramayan could be conveyed through an understanding of the symbolism behind the logo.

Sun

The sun is a life-giving force, an immense source if energy that sustains life. But more specifically, we all know that Shree Ram belonged to the Ikshvaaku lineage- the great Raghu-kul race or Solar Dynasty.

Bow

The Dhanush or bow of the Lord is said to be the Bow of Discrimination. Discrimination, described by Shree Ram in Lanka Kanda, represents the highest wisdom – that power of discrimination or Vivek.

Arrow

Shree Ram said that within the quiver of a pure and stable mind, are found the arrows of spiritual practices. These are the fundamental teachings of Sanaatan Dharma that are described in the scriptures.

 Sandals

The Sandals of the Lord represent the path of Dharma – the righteous path that will lead to God-Realisation.

 The Ramayan

The Ramayan is the mirror of life. It is a reminder that the answer to any problem we may face is present within the Ramayan.

Note: The Logo Competition was won by the Tulsi Manas Ramleela Group of Sangre Grande.
